• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Crazy thing my RTS did... lights and failures galore.

Rode it on Saturday for a couple hundred mile with some friends, no problems except for random stalls at traffic lights. Went for short ride on sunday and it went nuts for a brief period. Orange screen flashed EBD and ABS and Limp mode. Other lights on the gauges were... engine light, skidding spyder light, ABS light, brake light. I haven't been able to get codes I think i'm doing something wrong to retrieve them?? This only lasted for about a block or so and nothing returned when I shut it off and restarted. Anybody seen something like that??

Let's see..!!

checking battery connections good advice. Sometimes we have these glitches and if they clear and you have no more problems that's what it may be. Keep an eye on things if you have a chance have your dealer put it on BUDS and see if any codes were stored.. :ohyea:

When retrieving codes does the engine have to be running? I tried the button thing with the key on, engine off and the screen changed to orange but was blank??

It works best when it happens do not shut down anything as engine shut off and restart will clear codes. Push the 3 buttons and if you have codes they will pop. I suspect you did not have any as others have said that usually is a battery problem. No code for that.

It sounds like a battery connection.

:agree: ...or a loose rear frame ground (negative jump start terminal under the seat. Could also be a battery failure, but less likely to start under those circumstances. Could also be a loose connection to the instrument cluster, or a failing cluster.

Actually that's not strictly true.
Almost every subsystem has a low voltage code, the ABS and EBD are usually the first to fire off on a low voltage situation as the safety systems have a higher priority.
...or the DPS when you turn the handlebars. The DPS is the largest user of electricity on the Spyder, other than the starter, so it can actually be the trigger that pills the voltage down, resulting in "DPS Failure" and numerous other cascading faults.
