• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

do they need to be replaced

hemi link

my dealer told me they have the links in stock and if they need changing they will do it. why you would have to have a problem first or go in for service and than they check i will never understand but that's how it is working now and as far as the ball joints go i went there with my vin number and they said yes they need to be changed

What is the deal w/ ball joints? Shouldn't ball joints last fr years?

Is there a problem w/ certain models? I haven't caught a thread on that yet?

I haven't even ridden the bike except around the hood yet, but will look into the Baharon links.

Some of the 2013s had defective ball-joints installed at the factory. They're being replaced as the bikes are being found.
If you call your dealer with your Bike's VIN; he can tell you if yours is one of the bikes that got a bad set...

Cool, that sounds easy enough since my dealer is 40 miles away.

Forty miles each way is just a pleasnt little ride. Get out of the neighborhood and get some miles on that thing. ;)

I'm still on my learners permit, in my lovely state you need an experienced rider with you when you ride the first 30 days. I don't know anyone else w/ a motorcycle license.

And cops are strangely attracted to me. :yikes:

This is easy...
Keep the bike at the ready...
If a rider goes by the house; jump in line behind them!
You can leap-frog from bike to bike to bike all over the place; just bear in mind that eventually you'll need to find one heading back toward YOUR home! :D

Hmmm...

Or I might just get brave. LOL

I don't know what the consequence is for getting caught? Wonder if it's just a ticket.

Well..
Riding a motorcycle here in New York without having somebody with a license as an escort is the same as driving without a license...
And that's a five-point ticket up here! :opps:
Go to a biker bar; but don't hook up with THIS guy; he's bad news! Dudley.jpg

Have you considered putting out a shout for Virginia riders in your neck of the woods? :dontknow:
There's a spot in here (somewhere), that you can do that...
Look for the link to "Virginia" down near the bottom of the "Spyderweb"

Go get your license, it is easy on a Spyder ! I had mine for two weeks , then took test , a week later took a 8000 mile ride out west (:

I love East Tennessee. All you have to do is drive by the DMV to get your license. The down side is, no one in this State knows how to drive (unless they learned elsewhere).

To get a motorcycle license here all you have to do is ride down the 2 lane street that runs in front of the DMV, make a U-Turn without putting our foot down and come back. DONE! A real challenge on the Spyder, let me tell you!

Unless you get run over by a guy in a hurry on a tractor! :yikes: :joke:

What's the written test like?

I have to hold a learners permit in our state for 30 days before I can do the riding test. :banghead:

So when have you scheduled the test for?
Or do you have to wait the required length of time to even make the appointment?

Snoopy, where do you live? I am near Martinsburg WV, in the WV Eastern Panhandle, and if it isn't a really long ride to your house, I could escort you. What dealer do you go to?

No real need to worry about the heim joints, links, or tie rod ends (depending on what you want to call them) until you get your endorsement and head to the dealer for your 600 mile service. JMHO
