Yes, I was just reading up on it, and it is only one semester. The shows producers don't want to lose two characters this season, as fans would dump the show.

Actually, Pauley Perrette announced recently that she was leaving NCIS.

While its not mentoned on Perrette Wiki page, it is on the Abby Sciuto's page.

One of the worst shows currently airing. David McCallum's talents were wasted on it. When the show first aired, it was much more interesting but by now they've lost their way and become just another of many conceptually ludicrous action shows.
