• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Dumb I-Pod connection question

I just added the I-Pod connect cord to my wife's RT. Everything works fine and the display is good.

One dumb question.

When she turns the bike off does the I-Pod go off too or will it continue to run and either
A) run down the battery on the I Pod or,
B) run down the battery on the bike

She doesn't use the back case much (she prefers the Frunk), and always keeps it locked. I'm sure she will always forget to turn the I Pod off manually.

I have begun to leave my iPod connected. It seems to shut off, and keeps the battery charged, but doesn't draw much juice. I kept it attached the entire time I was at Spyderfest. I have also forgotten it in the garage for a week at a time...no problems. BTW, if you do remove it or unplug it, you will have to turn it off manually.

:agree::agree:

Turns off on it's own.. I worried about it as well.. Within a few moments after turning off the bike it too is off... :ohyea:

Mine has been hooked up for 18 months now.. It shuts down for playing when I turn the key off but keeps the ipod fully charged.. Never had even the slightest problem with the battery as a result

Question: If you get the cord that connects your MP3 player... Does anybody know if that one shuts the unit off when the Spyder's key is off?

I-Pod

I am still confused about the charging of the ipod when connected to the bike.

Is This right for my RTS

1- When the key is on the ipod will play, it will not charge the ipod battery while playing.

2-When the key is off the ipod will shut off and it will draw current to charge the ipod battery.

Are both of these right or is #2 wrong regarding charging the ipod battery.:dontknow:

Thanks
