• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm going to have a brake job done soon and I just wonder how the EBC pads that Baja Ron sells are vs the BRPs? Ron has always been honest with me but to hear from those that have applied them would be nice.

I put a set of Ron's EBC pads on the rear of my '12RT about 2000 miles ago. No squeal or chatter and I stop when I press the brake pedal...guess I installed them correctly. I do think I'm getting more brake dust on the rear wheel with the EBC pads then I did with the OEM pads. Not a biggee...I clean 'er up at least weekly.
 
I had installed the EBC rotor and brake pads on my 2010 shortly before I traded it in. My old rotor was pretty well shot from driving last summer with no brake pads while towing my trailer. Don't ask :banghead: Anyway, I was happy with the new pads and the rotor. No squeal with the EBC
 
Question: Ron has mentioned that a clip needs to be moved from the OEM pads, over to the EBCs...
Can anybody throw a bit more light on this issue and process?
 
Each pad has 2 clips on the back side. You will need to remove them and put them on your new pads. Pay attention to the orientation of the clips, they go on a particular direction so the clips will grab the post in the center of each caliper piston. Take your time, be very careful with the clips, if you lose or break one it will cost you some serious cash to replace because they only come with a set of new oem pads.

There are 2 small spring clips on each front pad that holds them in place. They clip to a pin on the piston. They are pretty hardy and I've never broken one. You can lose them if you let them shoot off somewhere. I've had customers say they've broken them and I have to take their word for it. It may be they were pulling them off in the wrong direction, I don't know.

But with a little care I don't see any problem with re-using them over and over again.

The EBC pads do not come with spring clips. The BRP pads do but buying the pads is the only way to get them.
 
I just completed installing BajRon"s EBC brake pads on all three wheels. I followed his directions, and had a little trouble with the clips but after the first clip shot off like a rocket into the unknow,:mad::banghead: I was able to locate it and continue. I also used plenty of CRC brake Quiet on the pads no squeal yet. Very pleased with the quality and the directions. :yes::yes::bowdown::bowdown:

Good product..!!

They work very well. I have had no problem with the stock pads so it's a toss up. If your doing it yourself you can use what you want. Some dealers only install oem products some will install what you want..good luck..!! :ohyea:

The clips are really no big deal. Just wrap the caliper in a rag when you pop them off and you'll have no problems.
