• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3S and Canbus voltage control

Not sure I spelled Canbus right but what does it do and does the
F3S have it? A couple of my cars have it and you really have to be
careful hooking up lights to keep from popping fuses and specific
hid lights have to used.

Thanks in advance!!

Yes the F3 and all Spyders use the Can bus system. So do most cars, a lot of motorcycles, atv's and some industrial equipment. It is just a better way to go. The wiring is much simpler, cheaper and with a whole lot more functions.

There are a lot of myths about the CAN bus system. Basically it is a pair of wires that connect all the smart modules in the vehicle so that they can talk to each other. Fear mongers seem to be everywhere telling horror stories of what you cannot do. Most of it BS. Think of it like the telephone wires in your house. As long as you leave them alone you will not have any problems. Hooking up new lights in your kitchen will not make your phone quit working. Really the only thing you have to watch out for are poor quality add ons, that are so electrically noisy that they interfere with the bus. Yes HID headlamps have a reputation for being a problem. Also on rare occasions a dud led. Nothing to do with blowing fuses. Not sure where you got that from. So add whatever you want. Don't worry about it.

F3S and Can bus

Thank you for the info. I know or I have been told that on my Avalanche and Dodge Challenger
that hid lights must be can bus specific for the vehicle.

Thanks again.

There is some history of aftermarket HIDs being a problem on Spyders as well. OE and quality aftermarket HIDs have been trouble free on Spyders.
