• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Florida motorcycle insurance rates

State Farm is telling me that my 2014 Spyder will cost close to $1000 a year half of which is uninsured motorist. I am 67 so this may be part of issue. No claims or accidents. I would appreciate comments from other Florida riders if you are paying what I consider high rates. I also realize we are paying for riding all year versus partial year like up north.

I have Geico because I was in a hurry when We got my byke and they were the only one open I could think of. Mine is about $550 for the year (I have a fresh speeding ticket not related to the :ani29:).

I got some quotes from companies from the dealer, but they are in the $700 range, so I'll just keep geico for now. I'd rather ryde than insurance shop anyway. :spyder:

It's virtually impossible to ask this question in an open forum, and get a useful response... :banghead:
The rates for a person are based upon so much personal information, that you really can't compare your rate to anybody's else; in a specific manner. nojoke
Find yourself an Independent Agent who also rides motorcycles. They'll know the market, and have the best options available for you!
Good luck, and Happy hunting!

Rates vary by state. FL has high rates because of the aging population.

I use State Farm and have home, auto, and two spyders stacked. Mine are between 500 and 600 per year for full coverage.

More up here

In Ontario the rates are fairly high compared to down there . I pay 1200 yearly with 1000 deductible for a fire claim on my 08 GS with a clear abstract . I talked to another gentleman in my area who has been riding motorcycles for 40 years and a Spyder since 2009 with a clear record , and he is paying the same for a 2013 RT. We only get about 6 or 7 months of Ryding weather here as well generally . I'm sure some pay less and some more . What you are covered for is also important

I have progressive, $ 640 year, I am older than you and live in Tampa,fl, with all the crazy drivers.

We have state farm also. I haven't got the bill for the new F3 yet. but Johns ST 2013 is about $325 a year, but we also have stackable.

Progressive in FL: 288 for a year, without uninsured motorist. The Spyder costs twice as much as my Buell.

I want to say it was 2000+ more with uninsured motorist when we had our 2 motorcycles and I haven't checked lately.

FL Insurance

I have Allstate for cars and Spyder. I have my uninsured motorist on the cars stacked and that keeps the price of the coverage on the Spyder in line. I have higher than normal limits for liability also. Less than $400 per year. That is in Deland, FL. Other areas may be more expensive because of the accident rates but we are a part of the Orlando area so it seems really reasonable compared to others. My cars combined cost me $1200 per year. I have a no blemish driving record. No one else can touch these rates.

You need to evaluate your need for uninsured motorist coverage. Its pretty high cost for the marginal additional protection it provides many that already carry full coverage and medical insurance.
