There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Foot pegs VS. floor boards...sitting position

So, I'm a new guy here and really didn't see much in a search effort. I'm 6' and I'm coming from a somewhat forward leaning seating position I had on my Honda ST1300. That was where I found myself most comfortable. So, will I be better off with the floor boards, or the foot pegs that are on it now? I think I'll need to get my feet more underneath me just in sitting on it in the garage.
Is there an option to swivel the handlebars forward at all?

Sorry...it's a 2010 RT SM5

Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to farkle a bit before spring.:opps:

BOTH

imho, it's just nicer to have both..... i do.... actually, i have the OEM pegs, Floor Boards and Highway Pegs... so i have 3 positions, which is nice on a long ride to change from position to position so you don't get cramped up....
i ride an RS, and by weeks end, i'll be riding my new F3-S... so i'm not much help here....

I have a 2013 RT-S, SM5 and installed the Rivco floorboards with the heel/toe shifter (a must). I'm 5'10" and the floorboards have given me a wider range of foot placement than the pegs could ever do. I had considered the highway pegs, but the floorboards worked so well that I didn't need them. I'll leave it to others to chime in on the highway pegs.

I came off of a Valkyrie to my first RT that was a 2011 SM. I found the pegs to be just a bit uncomfortable after several hours of riding.

When I bought my 2012 RT I added boards. I am just a hair over 6 feet and I find the boards are more comfortable for me. I also like to move my feet around a bit and the boards let me do that. These are diamond plate boards cut to fit the Spyder. I wasn't real happy with the fit and installation instructions but they ended up okay.

One thing I had to do was to add a 1 inch aluminum spacer under the brake pad to raise it enough so that it didn't hit the boards on panic stops.

I had a 2010 RT... GREAT bike!
I added ISCI's floorboards; they have four different mounting positions available for some legroom adjustment.
As far as adjustable bars; BRP has their Tri-Axis bars... A bit "interesting" to install, but a lot of folks really do like the adjustability!

I'm also 6' tall and came from 40 years of dirt bike riding in addition to two wheel on road riding. When I switched to quad riding 8 years ago I had cramped legs and hips trying to adjust to floorboards. With my 2012 RT I still tend to sit forward like on the dirt bike and find pegs more comfortable than floorboards. Personal choice. Ryding will tell you alot.

I'm 6'4", and the Seal Floorboards were the best solution (tried several) on both my 2010 RT and my 2014RT. Easy to install, no need for road pegs, and plenty of room for my size 14s....

I have a 2011 RTS manual transmission Spyder and would like to buy floorboards or highway boards, can you suggest a manufacturer of a good product(s) that will work and not interfere with the shifter?
Thanks in advance.

Seal makes both SE and SM boards.

Where did you get that material for the floor

COSTCO carried it, don't know if they still do. I have a two car and one Spyder garage, that is fully covered by this material. Easy to clean, waterproof, non slip - best improvement I've ever made for my shop/garage.

Ohh He meant the cement floor. Big Lots is where I got mine like that  Mine came in 8X12 Sheets
