• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Freak Out!

Probably the brake....

You are most likely inadvertently touching or slightly pressing the brake pedal and causing the Nanny to think you're braking and can't make up your mind. It then thinks something is wrong and goes into limp mode. Took me a while to retrain my old dog attitude. No problems now.... smoky

There should be a large sticker on each windshield that says that touching the brake while riding will cause errors, result in calls to the dealership, and kill your first few days with your Spyder until you learn to ride with your foot not touching the brake at all.

Without making a large point of this on purchase, chances are very good that a new rider, like me, will find themselves with flashing light and the exciting experience of limp mode.

While you're at it, read this post:

You can start with good habits all around, and learn now what I didn't learn up front.

Actually I was lucky as my dealer told me to keep my foot away from the brake peddle or it would cause the nanny to yell at me. lol
So far good dealer.
Take it in next Tue. for 3000 mile svc.

Hey there YOUR BACK!!!! Hot dog Please tell Bill and Marsha for me THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!! and can I pack up the guest bedroom and bring it here??? I don't have an email or even a regular mail addy for them and really wanted to thank them sooooo much for letting me stay there. I am sorry I highjacked this thread back to your regular story now!!!

Thanks for the advice! I was aware from reading this forum that riding the brake could cause this problem and was careful to make sure I was not doing that. This was a flaw in the bike from the day I got it. It is still in the shop having the brake switch and sensor replaced. I hope I have it back by the weekend. I am past ready to ride.

I use my cruise control all the time so I never have ridden the brake or it would disengage the cruise as well. Far too many issues with this rig is all I can say. Love the bike, hate the technology.
