Full Face Helmet friendly Water Bottle with "Straw"???

Does such a thing exist? I was just looking at water bottles with straws and there doesn't seem to be a happy medium, either it is whimpy and will lose the cold as it is just a thin plastic one, or it has this tiny short straw that won't work with a helmet on. I would like to take a sip with my helmet on! While riding? Any ideas?!

How would this work with a backrest? It is interesting and I watched the video, very cool and actually more protection that can't hurt us, but they need to make something for motorcycles. Or can this be used on the chest instead of back? Looks interesting. btw you sure a handsome dude! I think I recognize you too!:p

Camelbaks are not designed for the chest but I wish they were. You can have your passenger hook the straps behind you. The pockets on the bak are very handy for snacks, maps, and more. The glove box on the RT is ridiculous. Not even big enough for gloves. I keep thing about taking my CBak to a local upholstery dude and reversing the straps.

I have used a system similar to Camelbak but the water bladder resided in my tank bag.

Modular helmets DO offer more flexibility to this equation...
But they do so, at the cost of less ultimate protection.

Placed on passenger floorboard & held on with a couple bungie cords. Used some medical tubing with a long straw through the nozzle of the thermos and out thru the zipper, up to a "retractable badge" clip on our shirt. Wife and I ride our own Spyders (RT & F3) so don't use passenger boards anyway.
Sure worked nice going through Kansas a couple weeks back, IT WAS HOT, but water stayed ice cold all day.

I did...tapered cork that will fit the opening: food grade 1/4" flexible tubing: drill hole in middle of cork...insert tubing to desired depth and length to easily reach your mouth under face shield. Helps to add a tiny "breather hole" in cork also...Have used mine for several years...works great.. I have a 24 oz. Thermos brand stainless steel double walled (hot or cold) that I use ...yep works great.:yes:

What neat ideas, I will have to see what I can get here locally that is similar and see if I can rig something like this up. Too bad there is not something already produced to do this 100%. Looks like it could be a money maker for someone if they figured out something, because it is a variety of sports that makes us dehydrated:doorag:. Great ideas!

I will stir the pot a little...

I like modular helmets--the full face stuff is to constricting for me and for akspyderlady. When I need a drink of water or such, I just pull over, get off the :ani29: and stretch a bit. It works for us.

No need to worry about stirring the pot, I have a full face helmet because that is what I decided on at first. I am still happy with it and I do feel safe with it and yes it is constricting to be sure. It is very hot here off and on and I am in a especially hot area. So a Modular might be in my future, but for now I wish I had a way to refresh myself by sucking on a tube at least that has cold water at the other end of it (in my case ice tea that I make). I do pull over but being I am not in the US there are safety issues I deal with. I am planning a 9 hour trip soon to Oaxaca and will be traveling through Guerrero which is not the safest area around, I am a lone woman on my Spyder, while I do feel safe I have to be careful where I stop and when I do this. But anyway, I tend to get dry mouth when I ride (I think I have my mouth open sometimes in wonder at riding my Spyder, but who knows, it might be just the wind in my face! yikes! :opps:) haha, anyway, so this will help I believe and I think I will rig something up for this trip like what the other guys talked about the thermos in the lunchbag deal rigged up with a bungee cord on my passenger spot, what a great idea! These are all good ideas, the Modular helmet, the Geiggerig, the thermos!

What size medical tubing did you use? I have to order from the US (easier for me anyway) I have no idea here where to find that stuff. I think OD 1/4" right?

I use a Camelbak with a modular helmet and I have to lift the chin in order to get a drink. I also have a back rest, and for just riding down the freeway wearing the Camelbak is fine, but if you are riding twisties it gets a little confining.
