There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Glove Box no longer locks 2013 RT-S

Has anyone taken apart dash & handle bars to connect cable from glove box. The cable has come loose now glove box will not lock. I would like to fix it myself rather than letting the dealer touch it. I'm hoping someone has a video of how it comes apart. Thanks in advance.

My glove box was not latching and my service dealer actually had to replace the latching mechanism. I have a 2011 RT S

Sorry no PICs. You can access the locking cable by removing the speaker grills. The left one to be specific. Long needle-nose pliers can reach the cable mechanism and reposition it. After the 2nd time it failed we wraped the steering column with a cable tie to secure the cable's outer sheath.

Hasn't failed since.

Maybe try a diff dealer if you don't like yours. It sounds like a warranty item and should be fully covered for replacement. Just sayin...:doorag:

Glove box lock - me too

Hello, my glovebox lock failed after about 500 miles....had it fixed at the next service schedule at the dealer - covered by warranty. Now have 6400 miles on the bike and no issues since with the lock. I did explore to fix it, but it came off at the switch area, not the glove box latch area. Works fine now, but looks like it may happen again based on other posts. Good luck with your fix. One person in this thread used a cable tie to help it not come loose again -- that will be my next fix if it happens again.

Are we talking glove box or frunk here lets get it straight.
Took wind deflectors, mirrors, side panels, front panel, windshield and dash off in order to fix glove box cable at switch. I did put a zip tie on cable as someone suggested. Also changed front speakers while I had everything apart. Not so bad if you take your time. Also learned that clips on mirrors were broken by dealer at last service or on set-up. They put washers in palace of clips guess the tech didn't want to admit they broke them. I will be calling service manager tomorrow about this issue. I can't stand it when techs won't own up to their mistakes. I don't want to name the dealer just yet as I want to give them a chance to make things right. I've had the 2013 RT-S just over 2 months.

The glove box is between your legs and has no cable you must be talking about the Frunk in front correct?

Yes the one between your legs. There is a cable that goes from the ignition switch to the glove box. It operates when you turn the handle bars all the way to the left or right and turn the key to lock position.

You even had to take the windshield off? I would certainly have taken it to the dealer for this job. As for the mirrors the clips are pretty easy to break and your dealer should have replaced them. I would definitely bring it to their attention and make sure that they order new ones for you. I had to buy new ones for my 2010 and I think they are under $10 so there is no reason your dealer shouldn't have replaced them if they broke them.

Yes, I agree with you. I just didn't want them touching it and breaking something else. I guess they just lost a few hours worth of warranty work. Oh well! At least now I know the clips are broken and the cable is functioning properly. If I had let them look at it the clips would still be broken and the cable might have been fixed and god knows what else they might have broken.

AHHH you mean the lock cable. Never use it myself.

Surprised you had to take all those items off. We managed to fix it by just removing the speaker panels, but my wife has long thin fingers :). Regardless, its working for you now and the zip tie will keep the locking cable from popping out again.
