Handlebar mounts for cup and phone......

Ladies and Gentlemen Spyder Lovers,

I was just wondering if it is okay to loosen the plastic wire ties on the handlebars so that I can mount a clamp type holder for phone or cups ? I believe you can also use the 4 screws on the handlebar clamps to mount items also. Is one better than the other and who makes the best clamp type mounts with cup and phone holders ?

There was no interference with the wire harness coming down the handlebars when I used the Ram U-bolt mount with 1" ball.

Yes. You can move the wires. And, yes, you can use the handlebar mounts for mounting accessories. I believe Lamonster Garage sells a bolt kit for that very purpose. Sorry, I don't have any input about a cup holder. I made my own using the SlingMods cup holder as my reference.
