There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Handlebar risers with the most pull back

Hi all,

I know this has been debated several times but I wanted to get real world experiences with regards to handlebar pullback.

I've researched the various suppliers of handlebar risers but before I purchase, I wanted to get some field experience.

My wife is 4' 11" and I got her the "ultimate lowrider" seat that is sold on this site. This seat brought her closer to the handlebar but she still has to lean forward to reach the handlebars. She would like a more upright riding position.

From what I read, the Kewlmetal handlebars would most likely bring her to this more upright position but at the cost of losing guage cluster visibility.

What are your experiences with some of the other providers of handlebar risers.

I thank you in advance.

My wife is 5'-2" and has the BRP comfort seat. Originally, I had the 3" block riser on it, which was fine for me at 6'-2", but not so good for her. I installed the helibar riser for her and she now sits comfortably and her reach is working well for her.

We put the Kewl Metal 3 way adjustables on my wife's 09. It doesn't changes the ability to see gauges, and the adaptability is amazing!

Staying with Kewlmetal but in a different direction. As you can see from the photo (these bars are their 5" rise) I have their center console which will allow you to access (see link) to the Billions of 7/8" handlebars out there. You would be able to find just the right set for her ryding comfort. You just order in several sets of bars for trial fitting, pick the best ones and return the others. Wa-lah the perfect setup! Question on the seat. Did you go to a lower cut seat for better leg position to the pegs? With her sitting lower this to me would interfer with her seeing the cluster more than the bars. :dontknow: Also if you decide to go this route my dealer stocks the center console so no waiting for Kewlmetal to ship.

Mr. Orange, thanks for your input. The reason for the lower cut seat was that I didn't find too many seats that would bring the rider closer to the handlebars. The bike came with the BRP comfort seat but the wife didn't like the incline position that is built into it.

Tex, Dragracer,

Thanks for your input too.

Helibar Riser

If you're looking at the Helibar Risers, I've got one that I'm selling - it has only been on a bike for a few minutes, never saw any road time, and was taken back off. I've got trouble with my clutch lever being a bit too far away from my handlebar for comfort even though its set at the smallest possible setting. I thought the helibar riser would fix that for me, but it does not. If what your wife needs is for the handlebars to be closer to her, this would work. They go for $369.00, and I'm asking for $275 plus shipping for the one I've got.

Sass,

I'm still debating on which riser to go with. If I decide on your brand I will shoot you an email.

Thanks,
Ray

handlebars

Hi I too am a little on the short side, and I have the kewlmetal 7 inch bars, you can bring them pretty close to you but they also have a 10 inch but you would have to purchase the longer cables. with that said you will have to purchase the center ignition console. if you went with that I'm sure the wife would be very happy. .....Happy day to ya
