• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

harley recall

Sorry to hear about ANY problems with our bikes: Spyder or otherwise! :sour:
Out on the road; we're all brothers and sisters...

(Even Randy, and his :cus: SlingSnot!)

Business sucks

An article in this week's Bloomberg News says Harley-Davidson is having a bad time of it. Sales are down a few percentage points and foreign competitors including CanAm are taking away their market share. They are reducing production for a few months as their dealers are seriously overstocked.

Was noting both items on the I-net in the past few days.

Recalls and financial issues do to lack of sales. The bread & butter line--their custom specials seems to be taking a heavy hit of late.

I am sure they will bounce back from this too.

Unfortunately American manufacturers have always been slow to pick up on new ideas
They think that the public will keep buying what the have always bought
By now Harley should be making their own reverse trike [maybe a leaning one]
They need to keep up with the competition
New ideas are what keep a company going
This happened in the auto industry back in the 70s and they lost a lot of customers they never got back
It is easy to say buy American products but if they don't make what the customer wants foreign companies will

financial concerns

Sounds like that along with decreased sales they have made a lot of sub prime no money down loans that have a high default rate:(
I'm sure they will work through it, they have an amazing public following. I have owned many motorcycles but have never fallen into the Harley trance, at least not yet. I have ridden several of them but have not gotten the fever for one. There must be something to them though, and I did see a nice looking Harley trike the other day:). It would have to really be something to beat how I feel about my :spyder2:!

I wish Harley would have kept Buell or brings it back. She wanted to get back on 2 wheels but none of the Harleys ever feel right. The forward controls just don't work well for us. We tried the new Street which has more mid controls, but it felt unbalanced. We ended up with a new Honda CB500F.

Don't worry..both Spyders are staying. 8-)

Bummer..!!

don't wish it on any manufacturer. Hope they can get it fixed up without problems to there sales etc...nojoke
