• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has Anyone installed a replacement rear shock on the F3's ???

The pop out hole doesn't align with the shock upper mounting bolt as per the manual. There would be no way to adjust the "Preload, Compression, or Rebound" after installation without disassembling the body lower shrouds. That new Honda trike is looking better after every modification nojoke:helpsmilie::yikes:

My new hero!

Yeah it takes about 15-20 to replace !

You're my new hero....it took me longer than 15 minutes to round up the tools to do mine! Reckon some folks are better-organized.

But seriously, it's an easy task, and I'm still happy with mine.

What did you removed to gain access to the top shock bolt?? The pop ou plug is 3-4" ahead of the shock. From the top the opening is very small.
What was you method of access to the top shock bolt? Did you lift the rear with a hoist or drive up a ramp & work from below. The manual shows using the pop out plugs removed but my F3's is not shock absorber aligned with the prefab holes.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

What approach did you use to gain access to the top shock bolt--my pop out hole is several inches from shock top bolt alignment??
Thanks for your help,
Darrell

I do believe our F3's were built with different covers. I will need to make a cutout hole where the red X arrow is approx 3 inches to the right & 1+ inch up.

I see you have the BRP side cases. You do NOT have to remove the right side tupperware as suggested in the new shock install instructions. You only remove the splash pan under the seats in the rear wheel well. I did a step-by-step and followed up with a link to photos in another thread on this subject. I'll look those up and send in another posting on this thread.

I took a whole different approach.
I'd didn't remove the splash pan I see no reason.
There is a little access cover on either side of splash pan took one off on right side which is standing in back looking to front.
You can get a socket on a extension 10mm I think in there and just hold nut on other side . You'll have to remove bags but no tupperware is removed.

Big thanks to everyone who helped with instruction

I have the shop manual & it did't show anything like that. I finally decided to use a hole cutter & that solved my problem. See photo attachment.

Again big thank you to all for your assistance. Where did you get the manual with that instruction set--I ordered an online version for $38 & it's not something I would recommend.
