• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

help needed identifying object

I was looking for possible places to mount the control knobs for the Gerbing permanent controllers and I pried up the three blank covers that on the 2014 RT are not used, the ones to the right of the Park and grip heater controls. On prying up the middle one I found this fuse looking white thingy sort of half hanging out of a black object that looks like a fuse holder, covered with what looks like silicone grease. The white thing looks like a fuse, although I have never seen a fuse quite like it, the two legs or prongs have continuity and there are IMG_2547.jpg two red letters, S T, on the top edge. What is it, what is it for and does it need to be reinserted and into which slot?? I got the RT about five weeks ago and am still exploring it and trying to figure out where to mount stuff like the Gerbing dual controllers, PIAA driving lights,Glenda fog lights, auxiliary fuse block since I intend to run all aftermarket farkles through a switched, relayed fuse block directly from the battery.
Any suggestions are more than welcome.
Thanks
Andy

:agree: Roger got me through this process, when I was moving that jumper on my 2010... He's the "Go-To" guy, for this!

where to put the thingy

the fourth or fifth post in this thread explains the correct position of the jumper.
I believe it is the same for the 2014 base RT.

thanks for your help with this, I did read the above posts, long discussion, but fruitful. I was planning on putting the control knobs for the Gerbing permanent controllers into these blank switches and just let the receiver blocks stay loose or fill the space with foam. I would have to remove the inner structural stuff on the underside of the blanks, but I dont think that would affect the seal. Any toughts on that?
