• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Seems that this might have been “political” and might offend some persons. It was suggested I delete it.

Just for the sake of discussion and with all due respect...Haven't we been doing that since 1945? U.S.Foreign Aid for 2017 was more than 40 billion dollars. The two countries receiving the most are Afghanistan and Israel. I agree with the speaker, we should be encouraging them to stay and prosper in their own countries but this isn't really a new idea.

BTW, Thumbs up for the Gum Ball demonstration. Very effective in telling his story.

On the other hand .....

Once upon a time, there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work. One day, as he was walking along the shore, he looked down the beach and saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself at the thought of someone who would dance to the day, and so, he walked faster to catch up. As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, and that what he was doing was not dancing at all. The young man was reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean. He came closer still and called out "Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?"

The young man paused, looked up, and replied "Throwing starfish into the ocean."

"I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?" asked the somewhat startled wise man.

To this, the young man replied, "The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them in, they'll die."

Upon hearing this, the wise man commented, "But, young man, do you not realize that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can't possibly make a difference!"

At this, the young man bent down, picked up yet another starfish, and threw it into the ocean. As it met the water, he said, "It made a difference for that one."

Beck has a valid point. The best way to stem the tide of immigration is to help the peoples in the other nations have a life good enough that there is minimal incentive for them to take the risk of emigrating to this country. Is that achievable? I have my doubts.
