• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hit a Bear last night !!!!!!!!

BLUEKNIGHT911

Sadly Passed Oct 2024 - RIP
Luckily I was driving my car ..... I was doing the speed limit 50 MPH .... Bear came from right side of road from the bushes .... also luckily It was running at probably top speed .... I saw it as it got to the middle of my lane and I slammed on the Brakes. I hit it in it's left side Rump area.... I immed. looked in my left side mirror but it was gone ..... pulled over to check for damage, found a large scuff in the paint and some black hair .... I have a Nissan NOTE and the front is basically a plastic/ rubber compound that covers the actual bumper..... Tried to report it, but the State Police won't talk to you unless it's an emergency .... left a message for Fish & Game ...... I'm one lucky SOB :roflblack::roflblack: ..... Mike

Glad the bear was not able to join you in the car Mike.

Thanks, I feel the same way ..... if I had been one second slower ... I would have hit the center of that bear with the center of my car.... my car would have lost that battle, and maybe me .....Mike

Thanks for sharing, Mike. Glad it turned out OK for both you and the bear. Your angel was with you!

Many years ago a friend of mine was on vacation with his family when he struck a bear with his vehicle. The bear couldn't get out of the road and off the pavement. One of my friend's young daughters told him, Daddy you have to get out and help the poor bear. He told her, yea right sweety, Daddy is not getting out of this car and helping that bear!

Thanks for sharing, Mike. Glad it turned out OK for both you and the bear. Your angel was with you!

Thanks, however I'm not so sure about the bear being OK .... I hit it's left hind leg area at about 45 mph .... I heard the thump ..... Mike

Bears are dangerous in more ways than one. I lost a friend to a bear in Massachusetts several. years ago. He was on his way to work on his motorcycle. Bear came out of the brush and hit him broadside. My friend went down for the count, as did the bear. Last time I saw him was when he rode to Arizona and visited me.

Damn that could have been much worse! nojoke Glad it was light damage, and new underwear. Tom :spyder:
