I'm sorry I that I didn't explain it better.
Playing music through the bike's speakers is supported, regardless of the source of the music, whether it's the bike's radio or a music app on your phone.
Apple CarPlay navigation instructions are not supported through the bike's speakers, which means you have not met all of the requirements to use Apple CarPlay for navigation.
It doesn't matter whether you use Google Maps or Apple Maps, since both require the Apple CarPlay architecture and connection to the bike to work.
Apple CarPlay on the Spyder requires a bluetooth headset paired to the bike.
I have a Sena 3S Plus Boom Microphone Kit installed in my helmet. It supports several bluetooth connections, including two cell phones and a "GPS" device. I have the phone 1 setting paired to my cell phone for calls, and used the GPS pairing instructions to pair my headset to my Spyder.
I have found that the Spyder is a bit finicky about the startup sequence, so I first turn the bike on, then roll the throttle forward when the screen prompts me. Only then do I turn the headset on and plug my iPhone into the USB connector in the glove box. At that Point the CarPlay screen becomes active on the Spyder.
