• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How does the new 2014 Semi Auto Downshift?

I just ordered a manual but I was talking to people at the dealer today and we were all wondering about how the semi auto downshifts now. I have read that you can go through town at 30 mph in 6th gear and then run back up to highway speed with no lugging but wouldn't the semi auto downshift automatically when you slow down?

(I posted this question in another thread but no one seems to have an answer there)

From my understanding the 2014 does NOT downshift automatically. That is fine with me since on my SE5 I don't use that feature and I would not be using it on my SE6.

I thought I read in one of the reviews that it does downshift like the se5 did. I have 2012 rts se5 and it does downshift for you, but it' mostly does it when you are slowed down quite abit already. I seldom drive in 5th gear, but I know mine would not shift out of 4th gear at 30 mph by itself, when ideally it should be running in 1st or 2nd gear. So yes, I'm sure this new one would run in 6th gear at 30 mph if you want to.

Or they just adjusted the rpm level at which the downshift automatically occurs... :dontknow:
This isn't a big deal; I'm more worried about when "Big-T" will be arriving! :D

Thanks Chris!
After finally watching this video; it'll kick itself back down though the gears as necessity dictates.

It doesn't really matter; you can flip those paddles pretty darn quick when the need arises!
(I blame it on all those video games! :D)

The Missus wants her mirror back...
And she also has offered to allow the re-emergence of some TricLED brakelights for safety,
And GloRyders for pure style!
But only on her timeline!
