• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I need Help! 2022 Ryker with multiple codes & errors - what could be wrong?

I need help! My 2022 Ryker is getting Check Engine, VSS Failure, ABS Failure, Brake Failure, Forward, Reverse, and Park do not indicate on the cluster. The Code I get off of BUDS2 is ECM "Active" U0155. After following all of the recommended checks, all is still working ie, resistance, continuity, voltage, Battery tested, no fraying of wire harness. At this point, I'm lost. It Runs, (not in limp mode) but the first thing when you wake it up, I don't get the chirp anymore. Any thoughts would be helpful. And we don't have a dealer.

Welcome to posting Capt Currie. You'll probably see the notice telling you that I've moved your post out of the Spyder General Discussion area and what was really a 'not very related' Spyder discussion thread into it's own thread in the Ryker discussion area, so I hope it's not too confusing. This is a much better Forum area for this discussion on your Ryker tho; no harm, no foul, and it's all sorted, I hope. ;)

As always with these EXTREMELY power hungry machines, you should check the Battery FIRST!! Cascading errors like those generally mean the battery is dead or dying, &/or at the very least, not up to providing sufficient power at the same time as meeting all the starting loads AND providing all the needed power to run all the necessary sensors, electronics, and computers!!

So check the battery leads & terminals, making sure all the cables are good & the connections are clean & tight; fitting star washers onto the terminal nuts to ensure they remain that way while you're doing these checks is a great idea; make sure your battery is fully charged; then Load Test the battery - only because these things are so power hungry, if the voltage drops below 12 volts while it's cranking, your battery is no longer really up to the task. Yeah, I know that anything over 10.5v or so is 'normally' considered 'good' for a battery, but not on these Spyders and Rykers! They need more power than most other machines, and your battery supplying anything less than 12v under starting loads means something is going to suffer!!

Only once you've confirmed that you've got a good and fully charged battery capable of providing sufficient power should you bother looking for anything else!

Just Sayin' ;)

Yeah, as stated the Battery was the start of the investigation. Battery is holding 12.7 volts & has been to the dealer that I bought it from 3 Months ago. They load tested it, came out good. Then took it to an auto parts store and they come to the same conclusion that the Battery is good. The Ryker is having a communication problem. I just can't find it.

I have inspected the complete upper and lower harnesses. It's in like new condition, and as I said the battery has been load tested twice. No rodent problems here. Also, it starts up and runs not in limp mode, and on waking the ECM, the chirp is not heard. The gear selections are not being transmitted to the instrument cluster, but they do show continuity in the wiring. U0155 Is the primary code, everything else is secondary

👍 OK battery tested good, next in line - Star washers & clean/tight connections
, if you please. Lil' diy wire brush ruff up surfaces of terminals & leads. Add star washers between terminals & leads for good “bite”; if possible, check other end of main leads. Sorry, I'm unaware of the chirp or much Ryker at all. Has the display been overheated in direct sunlight? Do various mode selections display? Updates?? See you're located in Hawaii - the rental shops may be able to help??? Good luck.
