I purchased #610 sight unseen back in 2007. I had never been on a motorbike before but I fell in love with this thing and rode it back and forth across the country a couple of times. Good fun. The continuing, at the the time, power steering problem made me rethink my mode of transportation so I sold it with 45,000 miles on it It is for sale by the new owner if anyone is interested. That is NOT me in the picture above.

So then I tried this little beauty and while it was an excellent ride, I was always worried about putting a ding in it.

So then I tried a Fiat. This is the 183rd one brought to North America. It was a bit of a hoot and got a bit of attention but not nearly enough power. Great mileage though. Still not me in the picture. That is my garage though.

Then I tried one of these. Travelling the country in the ultimate steel cage was a bit of experience and I circumnavigated the country on an Amtrak rail pass. It was one of those things I promised myself I would do.
So after considerable thought I looked at some RT's, having ridden one when they first came out. It just wasn't for me although I get it; big comfortable bike, lot's of features. I ride solo so a lot of the features would be wasted on me.
I happened upon a 2008 Rs (#104)that was close to home and in good shape with 3100 miles on it and I knew I was home again. I picked it up last night and have been ordering the things I want to put on it this morning. Having owned one before I think I know what I want and I think I know where the weak spots are. And, oh yeah, the steering has been recalled while I was away.
I have been catching up on Spyderlovers.com which always has been a wealth of information on these machines. I have no intention of taking Spyder 104 on any great treks but then I cannot come up with a good reason not to either. So I wll be seeing you nice folks on the boards or on the road. Got to get back to shopping now.
