There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Install new rear tire

Hi everyone
I have a 2014 RTL with 5500 miles
It will be a little while before I need a new rear tire, but it will not be OEM
I have 2 Questions
#1 Has anyone in Northern Calif. or near Reno Nevada found a dealer who will install non OEM tires?
#2 If I bring a tire and rim to a tire shop can they install the tire on the rim and if so will I need to remove the bearings
Thanks
Don

I'm not in your area, but I can help a little with question #2 as I just did mine.

When I took the rear tire to the dealer, I had to have it with the hub removed; so basically just the bare rim, but with the bearing still installed. I removed and replaced my bearings after the new tire was mounted.
Couple pictures to better explain:

Hope that helps some.

That is how I did it remove everything but the bearing and have the car tire mounted at the car shop. I put counteract balance beads in. Tire was a 215/60/15 Michelin Primacy. Have 500 miles on it and it's working great.

My 14 tire gave out at 6666 Miles's and now at12,000 miles have the 2nd new rear on? They are not holding very good. On y way to BRPS open house and yes will need 3 rd rear when I get their. Now looking for a really better rear tire to replace? Still looking, will see..

If you have a motorcycle tire place near you they will be able to mount it for you. Also, some Discount Tire locations will mount them, you can call and ask. My dealer actually takes tires to Discount Tire for mounting as they don't have the equipment at the dealership.

For the most part, everybody is missing the real problem. Balancing. Have a plan as to how you want to balance the tire and then make sure that your tire shop can complete the task. My dealer used balancing beads and it worked out very well.

You may see this as funny but, it isn't. The problem is the width of the wheel. More tire dealers are getting the adaptors so that they can balance this wheel but, not all. I am saying to make sure your tire dealer can handle the wheel size before you start. If you choose not to, that is you choice.
