There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Ipod plug adaptor

2015 RT-L with CB - has the 7 pin connector in back R trunk that looks just like the plug in connectors for helmets.

Anybody know the BRP part number or where to get an adaptor for that to plug in my Ipod?

That plug is not for the helmets. In fact it is for hooking a iPod or MP3 player to the radio system.
You should have gotten 2 cables free with your Spyder. An iPod 32 pin cable and an MP3 with 3.5mm jack.

Do you not have these in your trunk?

You can hook up iPhone to play music, if you have a current iPhone, buy a lightning adaptor, and use it. You can control volume and switch between play list from your handle bars.

Does that work if you're using a lightning adaptor?? I tried a 2nd hand iPod like that but could only get it to start & stop via selecting Aux & varying the volume..... no switching between playlists or jumping tracks, nothing else worked! :dontknow:

I swapped that iPod for an older Gen4 unit so I could try it without using the adaptor, & the iPod itself didn't work properly!! :gaah: It would turn on & scroll thru all its functions, but no matter what I did I couldn't download/get it to accept any music files to play - or anything else for that matter!! It resisted all attempts to download &/or update anything... but I could actually turn iTunes (& other things) on?!? The mob I got it from thought I might need to get an older version of iTunes to load onto my computer AND the iPod in order to download useable music tracks, but they didn't seem to grasp that nothing I could do would let me download or upgrade anything on it!! Besides, by that time I had enough of bloody cantankerous Apple devices (again!) so I've reverted to just using my Samsung 'phone & bluetooth to the UClear headset speakers. Bloody good speakers btw!!

Bought the bike used & don't have those.

Nothing for a Spyder is cheap.

On my 2011 RT, I bought a used gen 4 ipod on eBay and it worked well except the battery was almost shot.

The display should say IPOD not AUX when the device is recognized. If in AUX, you don't have the same controls over the ipod.

My Ipod Classic works perfectly, 2016 RT Limited, its the one I usually use in my car. I want to get an ipod Touch 4th Generation so don't have to keep going back and forth. You know you choose your playlists through preferences on Handlebar menu correct?

Sadly, nothing for any motorcycle is cheap is it? It's even tougher in Canada because we have to order most accessories from the US and our Canadian dollar is crap. We end up paying high exchange rates, ridiculous shipping fees in most cases. If we're very lucky we don't hit hit with duty at the border.
OK......I'm done whining now......gotta go dry my eyes.

Oh yeah!!!! When I bought my 2011 the owner couldn't find the cables. I bought the ipod cable at the dealer here........$85.00. I use an old ipod nano and it works great.
