• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just experienced 36 hours without power---question on battery tenders

Just curious if the battery tender can drain a good battery if the power goes out or if it is smart enough NOT to let it drain through the lines?

We lost electricity in our second major snowstorm in a week---(10 Inches) --(12 inches a week earlier)

This power outage was 36 hours and my Spyder was on a tender in the barn.

Any comments?

Thank you ahead of time!

Just guessing here. A day and a half without power should not affect the battery on your :ani29:

I don't think a battery tender draws power when its not functioning. If I am wrong, I would like to know though. :dontknow:

I don't have battery tender, during this winter season I stuff my :spyder2:inside the garage and take it riding
once a month for 30 minutes. I never had any issues on battery it starts every time.

To answer your question, no, it will not harm your battery to leave it hooked up to a battery charger that is not plugged in or the power goes out.

Take care

Randy

John,
That's for the Deltran Battery Tenders; right?
I don't know if reverse current protection is a feature on all of the other brands...

Tender

If you paid more a dollar it probably has the feature, it's just a diode, and something that they can put on the box as advertising
