• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Kudos to a dealership under tough circumstances

So the Missus was dragging me along this morning on a furniture shopping spree... Something that I dig about as much as a colonoscopy! Since she actually got me there a half-hour before they opened, it gave me a chance to mention that we were only 10 minutes away from Arctic Adventures in Rosendale, and they had ordered some grommets to hold the side panels in place for my Spyder... She was now just as thrilled as I was; but quickly relented. Off we go to the dealer... We get there and their building is GONE!! :yikes::shocked: We drive past a construction crew that was screening out a cement floor and park the Jeep. I walk back to where I kind of see some Spyders sitting out back, and see an open door... Pitch black inside...

I look in and see their computers and counter... They're in the midst of tearing down and replacing their showroom. Workers are busy cutting pipes off the ceiling and it's as busy as a swarm of ants on a dead frog! I told them that I was there to pick up some parts that they had orderered for me a couple of weeks ago, so they started looking...and looking...and looking...and looking... I hate to admit this, but they spent 45 minutes digging through a mountain of moved inventory for a couple of grommets that just weren't worth this effort.
I didn't get the grommets today, but it certainly wasn't due to a lack of effort their part. Karen and Tom: you guys ROCK! :2thumbs:

I'm very glad to hear about your stop at...............

ARCTIC "CAT" ADVENTURES !!!

:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:
I heard they were a good dealer.

I still remind them that 'Cat killed off Scorpion back in 1981... Truthfully I had NEVER thought of them until an insured of mine mentioned that they had picked up a Ski Doo Dealership... Then I think Roger mentioned that they won some awards last year... Great people in spite of tha t"Black Cat Blood... " that they've got coursing through their veins...

In the late seventies their racers were doing an awful lot of the winning too! Cat couldn't beat them, so they BOUGHT them! :gaah::cus:

I owned a '68 or'69 292 Scorpion Stinger.
Red metalflake teardrop hood and a ported & polished Sachs.
It was a giant killer.
As I recall, it had one of the first all poly internal drive tracks and even with me on board (a really fat kid) it would pass anything in its class and quite a few beyond.

Later, married and looking for space in my shed I gave the beautiful thing away.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Just think of this way , If you saved all of the great vehicles you owned in the past you would need a garage the size of Leno,s
I know i would.:(

Thanks for reminding me of that Bob! Now I'm gonna go throw myself off a bridge!
How's that Backwards Spyder treating you?

Different ride that's for sure, Crack the throttle at 2 thousand rpm's and it pulls like a 747.
It's going to take me years to figure out how to use the Radio/cd/cb :dontknow:
But I'll still wave to the Spyders i go bye., Don't want them to get upset and post that some Harley rider didn't wave back.:roflblack:.

So in another words, Cat did beat them. :roflblack::roflblack:

Is it a 292?? They weren't one of Boa's better efforts... The belly pans weren't actually designed to shovel the snow off to hte sides and out of the way like the Ski Doos were... My brother had one of those while I was on a 68 Super Olympique; no contest! I could always ride deeper snow than he could.
A nice piece of history though... Let's see a picture! :2thumbs:
