• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

All fuel injected engines can become flooded. That’s why the ECM is programmed with an “engine clear mode”. BRP/BOSCH calls it “drowned engine mode”, or something like that. The 998 was especially sensitive to that for some reason. Probably why you heard it trying to start. It might start after sitting all night. If not, go through all of your start steps, hold the throttle wide open first, then hit the start button for about 10 seconds. Fuel is cutoff when doing this allowing the engine to clear. Then release the throttle grip back to the normal position and try the start again. Repeat once more if necessary. Let the starter cool a bit before more repeated attempts. Many 998 owners have needed to do this at some point. About once a year for my old 2012, especially after a stall or aborted start.
