There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Leaking sealant from F3 Engine?

Ok guys, noticed this seeping from this area around a nut from the engine, transmission? and pooling lower on a lip below looks like sealant. What do you think? I have cleaned it all up to see if it continues to seep. I take my F3 in for its first maintenance in 2 weeks. I will be sending these photos on to the dealer for his review to see if its something serious. Its not wet or greasy, almost like dried chalk substance.
After further examination I think it is dried coolent. It seems to be seeping right where a radiator hose connects to the lower part of the engine.

unsure what that material is. However, thanks for the good look
at BRP's joke of a hose clamp. They really DO build on the cheap.

Try checking the tightness of those hose clamps...
This has been one of those issues, that keeps popping up... :banghead:

To clarify, are you suspect of a hose letting fluid drip onto the noted area.

It appears more to me like a faying surface leak between the joining parts.

I have never heard that term before "faying surface leak" could you elaborate on that that means? is it serious?

Sorry, aviation language for two surfaces mated together with sealing compound between them. Same idea as putting RTV silicone on something and bolting it to the mating surface.

From your photo, I just am not sure if it is a case seam leaking or ??? since people are mentioning a leaking hose. Is it suspected the hose is leaking and dripping onto the area in the photo?

Could it have simply been spilled coolant when the motorcycle was first serviced out of the crate?

I just noticed it this weekend, not sure how long it had been there. My friend that was with me said " oh that's just sealant from a new engine, nothing to worry about." I cleaned it up to see if it will reappear and I will have the dealer check it in 2 weeks when I take in for its first service. Thanks for your help. Based on little response, no one else has seen it on their F3 so a little worried.

Don't know..!!

but do agree that it looks like assembly excess. If you see no puddles or dripping your good but cleaning it off and checking is a good idea...

He would know.

Get it looked at closely by a dealer
not to alarm you too much.
a dealer here in oz has had 2 1330 engines replaced due to porous castings.
Good that you have the photos, send them to the dealer by email so you can make sure they follow up with brp if needed.

Dealer believes this is crystallized Anti frees indicating the head gasket is not sealed completely. He will know more when he has it in the shop. This would be a BRP mistake since the engines come already built when it reaches the dealer. If it is, then this would be a major job to replace all the gaskets. I have been through this with other vehicles and I know from experience it will never be the same again with constant issues. Anyone want to buy a F3s cheap? Sorry, just feeling down right now :(
