• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Limp home mode

Back in November I was getting my bike winterized. rode to the power wash and give it a much needed thorough washing. Fired up and pulled out, made it about a block, check engine light came on and went into Limp home and died. tried to get it running to at least make it home, never did. Put it on the battery tender and covered it for winter. In late December I tried to start it and it is still in limp home ( hoped it would dry out).
Question is, Is there any way for me to clear the active codes and run the bike to see if they return before taking to the dealer?

2011 RTS
three active fault codes: P1120, P2620, P1614. I believe they all have to do with the tps?

Thanks
Jeff

Power washes and :spyder2: electronics do not go well together. I recommend no power wash on future washes. I am also very careful and do not spray water on the electronic switches around the handlebars.

For a while, I had engine idling issues every time it got wet. Turned out I had a scrapped/bare plug wire that was causing stuff to short out when wet.

You might have to go to the dealer to get the limp codes cleared on this one.

Try turning the key on and off 3 times that could reset the computer or remove the key and walk away with it. But if you put the key back in and you still get the codes a trip to your dealer is probably in order. P1614 is the throttle body code, and the 11 RT had a rash of bad throttle bodies.

Little checking..!!

the codes given are all throttle postioning sensor. Check all your fuses and relays. Do as Ann mentioned, if you pull the panels you can check the sensors wires and plugs. If it continues you will need the buds system at your dealer to help you out..:gaah:
