• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Looks like the season is winding down

The weather has been perfect here. Got up to 80 at the house so I went for a little 300 mile ride yesterday. What surprised me is how few bikes were out and about. :dontknow:

I started off running out to Alcoa Good Times and they were giving demo rides on the RT and RS when I got there. Talked to one of my 109 members that just took the RT out. I don't think he was too impressed as he's use to the torque of the 109. He did say his wife would like it better for sure.

From there I headed out to Deals Gap and there were very few bikes on the road. The cops were gone too so I was able to play a bit. One thing I noticed at the end of that run was I really need to get my Spyder in to have the DPS replaced. That was a real workout with no power steering.

Got to the store and had the last Dragon burger of the year. They close the grill tomorrow.:sour: Took a couple of pics and a video with the new camera and was able to use the geotag feature. The was kinda cool. :doorag:

Took the long way home through Weaverville and rode the 209 to Hot Springs and then the back way into Greeneville. All in all it was a great ride, just not sure why nobody else thought it was a good day for a ride. :dontknow:

I'll be putting mine away in the next week or two. Driving to work the past week its been in the mid 20s. This coming week looks good, but long range forecast is starting to show lows in the teens and highs around 30. Too extreme for me.

Hard to believe nobody out up there. We had a great day hear also very seldom in November you can do 200 + same thing here 70F but the bikes were out :ani29: but it does say Deals Gap population 0

Wow, the parking lot is basically empty there. Glad you got a good ride in. We also had a good day of riding yesterday, but today was spent cleaning vehicles and sorting out things around the house. I wish we would have went riding again instead. ;)

Video camera seems to be working well for you.

The season is almost over for me-last day of November. MD has had mild weather so far for November. I ride almost every Monday thru Friday. Weekends are dedicated to 3 year old grandson.

I opted for lower cost insurance by shutting down
Dec.1 thru end of February. This is usually bad weather time anyway.

Hopefully, come March 1 the weather will allow its unveiling once again.

Wow 80 degrees and nobody out? I don't think I could have done the Dragon w/ no powersteering. Just doing it the regular way was scary enough for me - there are no guardrails :gaah:

When ryding down there, I realized I have a HUGE fear of heights. I've never seen mountains that big before - it was gorgeous and I kept looking towards the right to see the view but I got freaked out at the same time!

Guardrails would just detract from the gorgeous views. :D

That is definitely not the place to find out you are afraid of heights. I found out I am afraid of idiots crossing the center line. :gaah:

Luckily I didn't see any of those! I really enjoyed ryding down there - people in cages were actually good & courteous drivers. Not like how they are up here - I also have a huge fear of minvans with soccer stickers on the back, oh yeah and Subarus too.

Subarus like to tail me for some reason. PLUS - it's the style for all the teenagers - lots of new drivers in those. Parents get them for their kids cuz they are reliable and safe but the kids aren't too reliable as drivers!

Hey! I resemble that remark. I drive a Boobaru!!!

Upside down

One of the advantages of riding upside down ;) is that the season doesn't actually end here. I got back from the Imbil Rally last night. There were 1170 people there. I saw two other Spyders. It took me nearly two hours to get my tent up because people kept wanting to talk about the Spyder.

I covered just short of 2300km in four days and had a great time on the road. On the way home I clocked up 20000 km.

I'd done 17000 of those in the 5 months that I've had my Spyder, so I was pretty pleased.

The rally season goes quiet now as Christmas approaches. I'll be doing some maintenance, some more mods, and some weekend rides since I can :D

Cheers;

Pogo.

Yeah, I put my spyder to sleep before I left for my honeymoon thinking the season was over (especially after two weeks of crappy weather). Been back for two weeks now and I could have gone on a ride every single day! :gaah:

I need a bigger garage, so I can store all my bikes at home!!!
