• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Losing a bit of faith in Can Am - enjoy the riding, but not the endless waiting while they find parts and fix all the niggling issues!

Last fall one of the speed sensors failed on my 2021 RT, and I ended up missing the entire Fall riding season while the dealer tried to get the replacement sensor. Then recently, I had the problem of not being able to unlock &/or open one of the side cases, and the plastic latch snapped off when I tried, so I needed the dealer to take care of that problem. Now my cruise control suddenly stopped working, and I am bringing it to the dealer next Tuesday (but I can certainly ride the RT without cruise control for now). This flurry of issues is shaking my good feeling about the Spyder, although I thoroughly enjoy riding this vehicle. I'm long out of warranty, and wonder what fixing the cruise control might end up costing me, as well as whether or not I would be facing a long wait for some needed part??

Does not appear to be a Spyder problem so much, it seems to be a supply line and dealership problem.

Can Am does not have the market cornered on that.

I agree. But that doesn't help the reputation of the Spyder line itself. I've long held that Can Am's dealership issues will ultimately be the demise of the Can Am Spyder line of products. Bottom line, if you want to sell Spyders, you've gotta keep them on the road. Reputation demands that.

I almost feel guilty about my original post. I went for a ride yesterday and the cruise control was working perfectly normally. I wonder if I had gotten some water into the switch when washing the bike several days ago, and by yesterday maybe it had dried out and the feature was back in operation. In any event, I am good to go and will not need the dealer to do anything at this point.

I know on my 2013 Spyder, if the brake pedal is not fully up, then cruise won't work, and the switch can be real fussy, it may need adjusting. I need to check mine for sensitivity.

Water shouldn't affect the switch under normal hose washing. If you used a power washer, then I would say 'maybe'. Perhaps you didn't engage CC properly? Anyway, once I've turned the CC switch to the ON position, I never turn it off. In other words, whenever I ride it is always ready to be set just by pressing down on the switch. I disengage it when necessary, either by downshifting or braking, but I do not push the switch to the left to turn it off. I have been doing this since 2012 on 3 different year RT's with no ill effects.

I do the same. I put the cruise control switch in the "on" position the day I bought the bike and never have turned it off. I have no clue as to why it stopped, or started working again. With my arthritic hands, being able to take my hand off the throttle is a real help. I would not buy a bike without that feature.

On the 2024 RTL CC is a momentary push button that once pressed stays ON until you turn off the Spyder. Then you have to press it again on the next ride. On my BMW K1200LT it is a physical switch that I turned on 21 years ago and it is still on.
