• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

maybe common knowledge...

but I found out that taking breaks on trips outside of your normal travel range does wonders. I did about a 300 mile round trip today and I made a mistake that maybe some of you have. I figured that since I didn't need a break while driving in my truck that I didn't on the spyder either, whew was I wrong. Normally when on the spyder, all I feel is energy but for the first time today I was sitting in a little traffic and began to yawn . I was honestly surprised. On the way home, I stopped at my dealership to ask when I should get my next oil change(I am at 4200 miles now) and tried on the Bell Rogue helmet(very comfortable by the way). That 30 minute pit stop refreshed me. I got back on the road and I seemed to handle the spyder better and be very comfortable. So my advice for those of you that don't already know it is to take breaks when your body alerts you and your ride will be a lot smoother. I hope that everyone is having a great day.

Taking A Break

I will be the first to admit !! Been there done that and really did not realize it!

Our bodies work in mysterious ways often communicating with our brains and we don't even know it.

Great Advise to everyone. Stop and Enjoy Life more often, Smell the
ROSES (so to speak).

Rejuvenate and enjoy the ride :yes:

Taking a break

Taking a break should be a mandatory requirement... That is one reason I try to stop for a few minutes every hour. Since my flying day when you could not park on a cloud and had to hold it. My hold it tank requires more frequent draining.

One time we stopped at a closed up gas station that must have been a school bus stop. There was a pile of coins laying around. We picked up enough to buy coffee at the next stop!

It's very inportant to ride your own ride when with a group also. I have some friends that are younger and fancy themselves as Iron Butt types. I will drop out and take a short break and catch up with them en route otherwise I'd just be beat trying to keep u.p with them. I find that if I do 100 miles between breaks and do no more than 400 miles a day I can go on forever. But if I try to do 125 between breaks or do 500 per day I start to run out of steam in a day or two. Getting old is not easy!

Gotta love coffee on some one else's dime. Free food is the best. ;)

Once upon a time...........I never took breaks, would go as far as the gas tank would allow, etc.
I would always arrive at my destination tensed up, tired, and generally beat up.

Then.........I started having back issues and now hip issues. I am now forced to take breaks more often--sometimes at 50 miles or so. Problem?............heck no. I arrive at my destination refreshed and ready to do more. I enjoy the getting there part of the journey now.

If I only had a dime for everytime I drove by something beautiful and made the statement to myself or the passenger---we will stop here sometime--or we will take a picture of this sometime.

This is one thing that getting older has taught me. I am glad that I listened.

For sure..!!

stretching, walking about unmatting your hair, puffing out your cheeks get some circulation back in your butt all that stuff..:roflblack: Sure makes us feel better. We get 180+ between gas stops so pause about half way at a rest stop or vista point on freeways and most anywhere on open roads...makes for a more enjoyable trip..!! :ohyea:

Or even if you just want to stop and admire a beautiful waterfall, an old run down farm home, a majestic sunset or perhaps even a roaring stream. Take in and enjoy what our maker has given us.
