• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need help for wiring horn

I am installing a Bad Boy air horn on my 2010 RT. The instructions tell me to hook the positive wire to "the battery." How do I actually do this? After all, the horn is under my fog lights. The battery is under my seat. Am I supposed to run a long wire between the two? Or, is there some hidden meaning here?

Please take lots of pictures of your installation. I'm still staring at the box of parts that I've got waiting here for my courage to catch up to my ambition... :yikes: LOTS of pictures...

When I installed mine I used some leftover wire from the other leads and extended the positive to the battery.

Are we..??

replacing your horn with the bad boy or adding it. I replaced mine and only plugged the wires from the old horn onto the bad boy. Works great..and fit in the same location on our RS not sure about the RT's...:dontknow:

Have you actually tried to hold the horn down for about 10 seconds? I did that and it would blow the fuse. I ended up buying the wiring kit which had all of the wiring and relay to install....was like $25 for the kit.

The horn button goes to ground to complete the circuit on the stock horn. To add a horn you need to wire in a relay just after before the horn button to act as the ground for a standard 30 amp relay (leg 86). Then take power from the battery (or accessory if you only want the additional horn to mount with engine running) and connect to leg 85 of the relay. This completes the low voltage switching side of the relay.

Take a wire from the battery and connect to leg 87 on the relay and then connect leg 30 to the horn. The last wire to connect is the negative from the new horn to ground.

You can pick up the down leg side of the horn switch right at the existing horn wiring on the left side of the frunk. It is easier to pull the frunk off to find the wire I find. You want tap into the wire that shows grounded when tested with an ohm meter.

I just tapped into my wiring and rotated the OEM horn so its facing the cages vice the driver. I also bought the wiring harness and put that box on an unused piece of plastic hanging from the bottom of the center consol. And drilled into the support for the side plastics to hold the air horn. It took an afternoon, but was an easy install. This pic shows the whole thing. You just have to look close to see everything.
