• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Not a great day here...

Did you ever have one of those conversations with your Missus that ended up feeling more like a Medieval jousting contest?? ck right intot he back of the RT!!!!!!!
Long story made longer...
So she's got me roped into yardwork today so that we can ride tomorrow and Monday; Fair enough!
One of the jobs involves covering up the air conditioner in our office. Now it's up in the air about 12 feet, and all of our ladders are either too long or too short...:cus:. So we take the short ladder, (The one I tried to kill myself with in August in another fall!), and put it up on top of our utility trailer hooked up behind our garden tractor. I figure that this combination is just about shaky enough to guarantee a 911 call... :yikes:
So now I'm up on top of this disaster-waiting-to-happen and I'm throwing the cover over the unit, getting some Duct tape in place, and tying some cord up over the top of it...
"It's not on right."
"What are you talking about?"
"It's not on right."
"What's not right?"
"The top is loose."
"I've got a cord over it."
"It's going to come off in the first windstorm!"

...You get the idea...
So I get it on as good as I can and start taking the ladder off the trailer to store it in the garage...
The background noise is getting louder and more insistent... And I'm starting to lose my patience!
I turn around with the ladder...
AND SMACK RIGHT INTO THE BACK OF THE RT!!!!! :cus::cus::yikes::yikes::shocked::shocked::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus:
scratches and gouges in both the top and bottom halves! (More cussing!!)
Has anybody had to fix up a mess like this before? Where can I get a paint code for the 2010 RT Blue??

Suddenly I don't feel sobad about the 6+ inches of rain we got today and it's not done for at least 36 more hours. So sorry Bob, better the RT than you though. Things are easier to fix/replace. :wrong:

Bob, I do recall seeing paint codes posted here in the past. Here's a posting by Spyderray:

I do not have the orange but I do have the following if anyone is interested. I think these are 2008/2009 colors.

:spyder2:BRP Colors B.A.S.F.
Yellow 625282
Full Moon 625329
Red Roadster 804705
Timeless Black 862278
Orbital Blue 862277
Quantum Blue 862472
Pearl White 862276
I found this on the BRP site 6/8/2010 under community news. Maybe others can add to list or BRP has new list posted.

Hope this helps.

Ouch. I know how you are feeling--it sounds like one of my most memorable Friday the 13th days.

I will have an extra drink tonight in remembrance of your bad day, and will toast that you have a great ride on Sunday and Monday.

:2thumbs:

Makes you wish you could relive that kind of day and change all the things that didn't seem to go right!!:banghead: I've had my share of "those days". May you have way more "great days" than even 1 more of "those days". Good luck to you for the repairs!

hey bob

no good deed goes unpunished:gaah::mad::banghead::wrong:by the way, how do you do 4 thousand posts in a year?

Thanks guys... You make me feel better after pulling off such a boneheaded stunt... :lecturef_smilie: :opps:
It's going in the shop for some other stuff on Tuesday, so I guess that this gets added to the pile. :(

Anne... :gaah::roflblack:

But for now it's a day to go for a ride!
Thanks again one and all! :2thumbs:

Because he does " bone headed things" and isn't afraid to share the whole embarassing story!!! OMG you HAVE GOT to feel REALLY bad about this one tho Bob. Sorta like key stone cops!!!

Actually I would say...
When you go to work... DON'T! :D
Seriously (kind of); It's my office and I'm in a position where it's easy to check in thoughout the day...

Twin Brothers from Different Mothers... :2thumbs:
It keeps me sane and happy and I think that's all my Missus needs in order to sleep well at night! :roflblack:

Next time she doesn't like how you did it--- offer to hold the ladder while she gives it a shot.... ;)

bummer on the damage..... :(

Well the events of this evening pretty much put the entire weekend into perspective...
While taking my Spyder to the dealer's this evening for servicing, a new tire, some warranty work and the aforementioned scratches, I managed to T-Bone a young lady in a new Subaru at an interesction!
Totally my fault... she's okay and I'm okay but her Suby's entire left side is toast and my RT needs a new frame and tupperware up front...
4_2_204v.gif

A simple stupid case of distracted driving! I was less than a half-mile from the dealers and started thinking about my list of things that needed attention...instead of doing what I should have been doing... :opps: like operating a motor vehicle!
It could have been a thousand times worse so I've got nothing really to be upset over; except for my falling into a comfortable laziness and not paying attention to my surroundings...

So now if I can only talk the Missus into letting me trade it in on an RTS...

More later after I report this to the insurance company! :gaah:
