Anyone ever done the Oregon coast from Canada? looking for info for a road trip next summer. Thanks.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Yes, I rode from Seattle to San Francisco 4th of July weekend 2011. The Oregon coast is beautiful, but...Tillamook county sheriff like all other Oregon counties like to set speed traps.
And I was very pissed after following a group of RVs that the Sheriff clocked me at 72mph in a PASSING lane($210). So unless you want to spend 8 hours riding like your in a parade avoid Oregon all together. Really a PASSING lane, You all know how easy it is to go past 70mph while PASSING...Oh it felt so good to hit the CA stateline and ride over 55mph.

I've ridden the coast route from Port Hardy (and Whistler) to Ensenada, several times. Great ride once. After that, anything south of Eureka, is yours - just me - I'm not a fan of freeways or large population centers - not to mention, coming from the North, you have to pass back through it.
You might consider riding to Crescent City, CA, then up 199 to Grants Pass, OR - Crater Lake - John Day - Enterprise, OR - Lewiston, ID - Yellowstone - Glacier Park - - - A great ride and much better scenery and you can avoid almost all of the super slabs… JMHO..
