• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pulling Maintenance today

Today is a nice sunny 70 degree day, and all my friends are out riding. But not me......

My :spyder2: is due for it's second service (3,000 + 9,300) and I'm going to change the oil and most of the other items on the maintenance schedule myself. This is my first time working on a Spyder, so I've blocked of the entire day just so I can take my time and not feel rushed.

  • 5 quarts of BRP Semi-Sythetic Oil? Check (Next time I'll get full synthetic)
  • BRP oil filter? Check
  • Gasket kit from Baja Ron? Check
  • K&N air filter from Baja Ron? Check
  • Ramps? Check
  • Lift? Check
  • Tools? Check
  • Beer? Check
  • Extra box of cuss words? Check

I've watched Shawn Smoak's amazing oil change video about a dozen times, including this morning while eating breakfast  . I should be ready to go.

You shouldn't have any problem. Everything is pretty straight forward. Take your time, and learn as you go.

Don't forget : These bikes are built in Canada...
You should always pack some spare French-Canadian cuss-words as well!

For example...
(The Captain's last word!)

May I ask what type of lift you are using?

Blade

Harbor Freight. I have to pull the front wheels onto short ramps that I build out of wood in order to slide it under the :spyder2: because of the low clearance.

IMPORTANT; READ

I find if you mark numbers(1,2,3) on back side of panels when you go to reinstall your panels you just go in reverse (3,2,1) and youll find it easier.. For people with short term memory loss it works wonders..:p:clap:
