• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RAM mount for left side of handlebar

I want to mount a Zumo 550 GPS on the left side of the handlebar of my 2014 RT-Limited.

Attaching a RAM ball to the back side of the cradle is easy enough; then a short extension arm to another RAM ball mounted, um, to exactly where/how on the handlebar????

Seems like I've seen some sort of bracket which mounts rigidly to the handlebar hardware for a cup holder or various bits of electronic gear, but can't turn it up.

Prefer not to use a strap due to the weight of the Zumo unit (+ cradle).

Anyone???

TIA

Pete

IMO the Lamonster Spyder Cuff, while a bit expensive, would be the most fitting device for an RT-Limited. If I felt a need for a device on my RT-S there is no question that I would purchase one.

find one of these lay it along the top of the handle bar with the ball on the end facing toward the middle of the bike so the ball hangs over the edge of the handlebar and the center ball faces up or forward or backward what ever works for you. Get 2 hose clamps long enough to go around the handlebar and the ram mount and cinch them down. Now you have a place for two mounts and you didn't spend over $25. Oh remember to remove the 2 screws, you wont need them Ram RAM-B-309-2U Of course you can put one on each end and have 4 mounts. Or you could space them around handlebar, the mind boggles at the possibilities.

just purchased a ball mount that attaches on to any one of the center bolts of the handlebars that is not bulky from Value Accessories for $19.95

Zumo mount alternative

I have a 2014 RT and did not come with gauges on left and right sides so I used the right side for mounting my Zumo 590 GPS. I used short Ram mount arm attached to threaded ball. Locked it up on the cradle with KradleLock and Kapplock.
