• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ran into a fellow rider

hope we were not too much for your wife. my friend chuck that i ride with and i are really good friends and we break each others chops all the time, so people say we should be married the way we pick on each other lol
Not a problem! We can handle it.

Here are the pictures. If your panel looks like this chances are your canister and or the master are melted and the exhaust gasket is shot.

Wow, a photo is truly worth a thousand words.

That is incredible. Folks are often advising against enlisting the services of an attorney, and I agree with them when discussing minor pi**ing matches with BRP over minor problems.

However in your case, you have MAJOR issues. I would definitely consult with an attorney to resolve this issue to your complete satisfaction. For the heat to be bad enough to deform the panels in that manner, there has to be big time problems underneath.

Very sorry for your problems and I hope you have a resolution sooner rather than later.

This particular case is ridiculously in need of BRP stepping up to the plate. And quickly.

If it was me having the heat problems so many seem to be having with 2013's, once I got the bike fixed/got rid of the bike I would not be looking to get another Spyder in any way shape or form.

And I'm just glad my 2011 runs fine.

sorry to say

Interesting pictures of the heat damaged panels. That should not be happening. Yes, we can do some things to alleviate the problem--but I also lean to the side that BRP should be solving and then fixing the issues. If I bought a car and this was happening, it would surely be taken back to the dealer for correction--on their dime.

The heat issues we are seeing are extraordinary, and have not happened on as many vehicles or caused damage like we are seeing on the 2013's. Something is wrong, and needs to be made right.

Also interesting to note that most people want a :spyder2: that works as advertised--they don't want to dump the brand altogether--they just want to dump the 2013's and get back to "normal".

I'd be laying some heat barrier stuff up under the Tupperware to keep it from melting...
Granted; it'll take WAY longer to pull the panels than it will to install the "tape"; but it is a solution that's workable by us.
Oh... This situation ISN'T what insurance is for. Letting aknown condition continue to deteriorate until a larger problem occurs is actually grounds for a Company to deny coverage for a claim... :lecturef_smilie:

Especialy when you post it on a public forum!!

While talking to one of the owners at my dealership today; he DID mention that BRP seems to use the customers as test pilots more than the other manufacturers do...

The've been HAMMERED by 2013 owners looking for solutions. He mentioned that re-flashing the ECMs seems to help a little...a little... :gaah:
My DEALER Told me BRP uses us as testers

Hi,

BRP make new design for 2013 to making place for new motor in the 2014. And know that the new 2014 has two front cooler so maybe the radiator for the 998 in 2013 they put cooler on the old place. And with design there's no place for heat to go out.
