• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have a rt and tried an older iPod shuffle (2gb no screen type) with the connector in the trunk. I can control it from the bike but do not get info on screen. Does anyone out there use the 6th gen shuffle with the screen and does the song info show up on the bikes screen? I also would like to know if the iPod charges while plugged in.

Thanks

I plugged in my iPhone 4S and also no info on the screen with the iPod adapter- but yes - controlled the device but I did not have the scanning and menus one is used to seeing on an iPod - but I am new at this on the spyder too.

My iPod touch works great. Be completely stopped when trying to navigate through the menus. While moving you have limited control of what the iPod touch can do. Included with my RT was a small brochure that gave you instructions on how to navigate through the menus and use the device with your audio system.

The iPod and iPhone will charge while plugged-in; however, the my iPod does not seem to auto-shutdown after I have turned the bike off. I have not tried to use the menus while stopped, but will try since I usually forget to hit shuffle when I start. :banghead: I have an older 5th Gen Video iPod.

If you are looking at the screen and not pressing the mode button, you will not see anything but Ipod. If you touch the mode button it will show the song. Then if you push the right arrow, and change the song, you will see the name of that one. Of course this only stays on screen for about 5 seconds then goes back to the main screen. I wish there was a way to have it on the main screen. Go here:

Choose interactive demo and you will see what I am talking about.

I know you can set up playlists and by holding down the next arrow, it will switch to the next playlist. Have not messed with it that much to be honest.

I really wish we could browse by artist or album. Or heck, even shuffle. The iPod integration is REALLY lacking.

As Mark says you can change playlists just by holding down the right hand arrow button. You can just set up playlists by genre, by artists or by albums and move to them easily.

You don't have the full capability of the IPod menu but there are ways to work around it.

Very easy to shuffle. I set mine on the play list I want and on shuffle before i plug it in. I have several hours of music on that list, so I rarely ever hear the same song twice on a trip. And while plugged in, a brief tap of the left right arrow will move to next song. Be mindful if you hold it down too long you will change playlists.

So while we don't have full functionality, it is there as a work around. Try that and see how it works for you. Set the playlist you want on shuffle before you plug into the iPod cable. I bet it works for you.

I have uploaded the Quick Reference Guide - ROADSTER ELECTRONIC COMMAND CENTER (RECC) AND INFOTAINMENT CENTER.

You can find the guide HERE This document is a small folded document, that when unfolded is quite long. Pages 1 & 2 are actually a continuation of each other. Same side, just too long for my scanner to handle. Same with pages 3 & 4.

According to Owner's Manual (which I know everyone reads before posting questions here --- just kidding) - Page 38

My guidebook was tucked in the rear storage compartment along with the key cyclinder for the trailer and spare key. It would have been easy to overlook.
