• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Tire

Well it's that time! At 13K+ the rear tire on my 2009 GS/RS SE5 has seen better days. I ask the Gurus of this site to give me advice on which tire I should get? Stick with OEM or other brand? I live in South Florida so hot weather riding and rain should be taken into consideration. Thank you

I have an RTS and I just put on another tire yesterday, I am getting 10,000 miles on the Kenda tire. I replaced it with another Kenda, as long as I'm still under warranty. I don't want BRP to have any excuses to not fix something because I'm using a different brand tire than theirs. This is my second replacement tire, I also only got 10,000 miles on first one. I paid $130 for tire and $160 for labor.

Are you guy going to the dealer to have the tire replaced or taking the rear tire off yourself and having a someone else mount the tire?

I replaced the stock tire at 18 thousand + miles with another stock tire.
I don't think i ever had a tire on any of my bikes last more than 6/7 thousand miles.

Go with the Toyo proxes 4, AA traction rating and the best rating for hydroplaning and the same size as stock. $30 dollars more than the others mention, the other are good tire as well and stock size. I would not use the stock tire myself.

Just put my Toyo Proxes 4 on today, $114 from onlinetires.com. I got 18,000 miles from my Toyo proxes T1R, which are now discontinued, great tire that had very even wear.

I just put a Michelin HydroEdge 215/60R15 on. Good review & test marks in www.tirerack.com compared to the other offerings, which is not all tires that could be used. I found my speedometer is much more accurate, but my odometer may be further off, according to my GPS. Will know more when I run some more miles on it.

I want to thank SL community for their response and insights.. Im sticking with stock tire dealer gave me a discount ($100) and I have a custom bike shop that want to working on Spyders so they are going to mount it for $60.00... Alot better price than the dealer wanted $250 for mounting alone...
