• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HowTo: Remote Garage Door Opener

I mounted my opener on the underside of the dash cowl using 3m-loc fasteners (from EZPass supply). Solid mount, easy reach, and easy to pop off.

Have a remote that has a hole for key ring. Just put it on a chain that hooks on each end to a belt loop. Wear the chain whichever bike I ride.

Finally got around to installing my solution for a garage door opener. As I stated in my 3/22/24 post, I REFUSED to use the crooks at Mo-Door since they took $160 of my money and two of my remotes to supposedly come up with a custom solution that would fit in the switch blank of the 2020+ RT only to get nothing back and never return my calls and emails. Done with those clowns and I hope you learn from my mistake. I figured that since a Homelink system works great on my cars, golf cart, and Indian Challenger, why not go that route? I found these fully-contained and weather-resistant units on Amazon at:

https://www.amazon.com/GENHLBP1-Wireless-Homelink-Tractor-Motorcycle/dp/B077NYF667.

I happened to find the identical part branded for my Club Car golf cart on eBay for a few bucks less and bought it there. See the pics below.

Here's the how-to:

Pop the switch blank out and with a Dremel and X-Acto knife, carefully cut out the fake switch part, leaving the thin "frame" of the switch blank and its mounting tabs intact. You'll find that with some careful trimming, the hollowed-out switch blank will fit around the Homelink module (it's snug, so be gentle) and everything will snap into the RT's console. There's plenty of room inside the console and tupperware to accommodate the Homelink module, so that's not a problem. And while I was there, I did ThreeWheels' mod to move the seat and grip heat switches next to each other. Voila! Easy-peezy...

Where did you get the 12VDc to power this? This seems like more of a pain than just relying on the remote battery. (mine typically last over a year )

I like how you think though... :2thumbs:

Many ways that riders use to open/close the garage door. I have a small maybe 1 1/2" Overhead door remote that fits quite easily in any pocket and works quite well.

Slingmod has one called Doormate.

That’s what I ordered a month or so ago. The Doormate 2 works well but you probably will want the aftermarket cuffs to give you more mounting options on the bars. I had to use a bolt from my toolbox since the one that came with it didn’t provide a secure enough fit to keep the base from moving around.

The Doormate opener comes with a M6 sized screw, which will work in the Slingmods branded Top Cuff. For my Lamonster Top Cuff, I simply swapped out to a 1/4-20 screw. Works perfectly :)
