• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Replacement Shocks on new 2013 RTS

My shocks are not adjustable and too light for my RTS. I heard that BRP would replace with heavier duty shocks if you had under 1800 miles. I read this some where on this site. Has anyone done this with their 2013 RTS's and who would you contact at BRP?

Thanks, Jack

I never heard about a mileage limit but I had my shocks replaced on my 2013 as they were defective. I had well over 5,000 miles when they were replaced. I'd start with your dealer and if they can't help you then try starting a claim with BRP customer service. Good luck

Why is it you think the shocks are to light? Do they fail to dampen body movement when going over a bump? If your symptom is leaning or cornering performance, its likely you need to upgrade your sway bar, not the shocks.

My dealer told me there is a service bulletin out that states there is some shocks out there that have the improper damping in them. They offered to replace mine but I just purchased a set of Elka's and that was another great upgrade! They are adjustable and far better than the stock shocks.

Far as I know no one makes a sway bar for the 2013. Too difficult to install and the OEM shock is larger anyway. The 2013 shocks are light and do not have any adjustment as on previous year shocks

You may want to check with one of our sponsors, BajaRon. He makes a sway bar for the 2013 RT, I bought it, installed it and love it. Makes a noticeable difference.

Yup!

There have been some folks in here who had defective shocks...
I think that Rabtech's bike was actually scraping the pavement with it's nose... :yikes:

Unless you're bottoming out; it's more than likely that a stiffer Anti-SwayBar will do the trick.
