Replacing stock heated grips with Kuryakan grips

Does anyone know if you can put on the Kuryakan grips if you already have heated grips?

There's a post some where about putting the 2 piece grip over the stock heated grip.
Not sure where I saw it but on this site. you cant remove the stock grip and keep heated

You have to use the ISO grips made for GL1800 Goldwing with heated grips. It's a clamshell. If you have an SE you need to trim the trip or paddle. Here's some but there are more... http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/search.php?searchid=6814431

We put on the kuryakin clam shells over my wife's heated grips on her old spider and she could no longer feel the heat.

The heated grips still work they just take longer to heat up.
