• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT dead as a door nail

2Gunns

RT-S PE#0032
I've been traveling with work for the last two weeks and was looking forward to my first free Spyder weekend...... I went out this morning to find my RT DEAD. Turn the key and nothing....not a ding, not a light...not any sign of life. To my shame, I did not leave it on the tender and even worse I found that I left a something plugged into my frunk 12v outlet.

I've had it on the tender all morning now and still nothing. Someone please tell me she will live ! Read in the manual about jump starting, is that a good option?

It might take a couple of days to get the battery recharged if it went down to zero.

Experts will come on with better information I am sure.

I do not know for sure if you "killed" the battery or not by letting it go down that far.

I don't think jump starting attempts would be good--I am for gradual recharge.

You might do some replacement checking out, just in case though.

Sometimes a tender [low amp] won't start charging a COMPLEATY dead battery, Jump start it then after you get a little charge back in the battery , Then put the tender on. Hope this helps.

The tender might bring it back. But if you see no signs of life after leaving it on charge for 12-24 hours, I would connect a 5-10 amp charger to the battery leads under the seat for an hour or two and see if that does the trick.

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

just go buy a new battery and replace the old one... crank her up and go ryding... :trike:

FYI: You can recharge a completly dead battery....it just takes a really long time. The Ole' girl is back up and kicking.
