• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RVers and Owners Event in Maggie Valley

We stayed at Creekwood Farm RV Park in June 2011 for that year's owners event and loved the place. We're booked for the same site we had then number 82. We are coming in on Monday, June 10th and leaving Saturday. We'll have our RT in our 16 ft cargo trailer behind our 40 ft. motorcoach. Anyone want to caravan down I-81 from VA?

Shoot - I was getting all excited about caravaning down with you when I saw that you are going down on the 10th. We aren't going down until the 12th. Hubby has to work - assuming he still has work what with sequestration and all!!

SHOWERS

Their website indicates they have tent sites, mbut I don't think they have showers. A bit closer to MV is a Pride RV Resort that has more facilities for tenters. I haven't made a decision to go yet, but if I do, that may be where I'll end up.

I covered this with Debbie today....they have 6 private / lockable showers and she says she has never seen a line...annnnnnnd the price quoted includes the fee for electirc ,water, sewer etc. annnnnnnnd the taxes ....Mike  :2excited: :agree:

I'm willing to pass on my cell phone number to anyone who PM's me .....Maybe if we all do that we can keep in touch.....I recommend doing this via PM's only........Mike & Dee :ohyea:

I'll call Creekwood tomorrow and see what they say. If they give 50% off for Passport America on cabins, I could join that and get a cabin for my stay.

You know Teddy & I are gonna be last minute to confirm getting this off work

Just got off the phone with Debbie ( very sweet & helpful Lady ), at Creekwood Farm RV Park near Maggie Valley....We booked from June 8th to the 14th ( intend to get some awesome riding in beforehand )...Site #28 in the center of the Park across from the Guest Parking lot.......So everyone is more than welcome to visit and set a spell or whatever......We would also like to hook-up for " Rides " before the EVENT....Mike & Dee....... :ohyea: :2excited: :yes::yes::yes::yes::yes: Oh Yea then headed to the :bbq::bbq:wouldn't miss that for anything ! ! !

Hey'a Mike, just curious if you may have mentioned Teddy & I sharing your site with our lil MOTO-MATE Camper to them & if that was ok? I just know some places have a strict policy of what type of RVs are allowed & we don't usually meet that criteria
:rolleyes::cheers:

They have the nicest showers I have ever seen. That's why they are rated a perfect 10 on restrooms.

WackyDan, Wife Terri and daughter Leah will be on site #23

Nope... They just called... due to a glitch, they had to put us on site 85 instead. They said they had to move Spyderwoman and Jimmy too due to the same issue. They are now on site 31.

Something about they can't release those until April and they are held for large groups. Don't care really as long as we have a site. He said those two are closer to the creek so I'll call it a win.

Great places to camp near Maggie. We have tented at Milehigh Campground. It is rustic and very beautiful just off the Parkway between Maggie and Cherokee. Balsam Campground is just down the road from Milehigh, it is a National Park Campground. Very nice with facilities.

We have camped at Mile High before and those are the most scenic camping locations in the area & at very high elevation but, they are somewhat remote and the facilities are very limited. Even if you dont camp there it is a great ride up to that area, a mile high in elevation with super views! See below from our trip in 2011...

We have reservations for site #75 at Creekwood CG but heading over to Greeneville Sat am for the BBQ.

Maggie valey to Lamonte's BBQ

For the BBQ at Lamontes on Saturday we've decided to camp at Baileyton RV Park. http://www.baileytonrvpark.com/index.html. It's just off of I-81 Exit 36. I've booked a place to park the toyhauler We will be driving up first thing Saturday morning from Maggie Valley.

It looks to be about 20 mile ride on the Spyder from Baileyton RV Park to Lamonte's place.

We were going to stay at Banks Farms Campground which is pretty close to Lamonte's, but they indicated they sometimes had trouble with larger rigs. The toyhauler is new and I'm not going to risk it, so we opted for Baileyton.

What do you mean by "Bump" ? Just wandering..... Deanna777:ohyea:

Bump is a way to keep the conversation current so that it shows up for folks (like me) who come on and read just the new posts. It is a simple post with no real content so instead of saying something meaningless, typing BUMP lets forum members know you are posting simply to keep the topic listed under the new topics.

PS I hope I didn't make it MORE confusing!
