• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Saddlebags vibration, etc...

Hi all,

i read recently the post about Viking bags.... I figured I spent the cost of the universal bags on a football weekend of beer so I ordered a pair. The bags while vinyl "Viking leather" they are well made, reinforced it the right spots, and made from a thick quality material. As the OP stated, the mounting holes are about 1/4 in off so you have to elongate one of them. The bags fit well and should last many many miles. For the 100 bucks, it is the best deal going...

Now for the vibration issues. I bought the Baker setup a couple months ago and Bruce and his guys build a quality part. The setup cured most of the vibration. A few weeks ago I was sent an updated upper and was told the lower could be removed. It worked well but not as much as the 2 piece unit. The spring mount did damage the chrome passenger peg bracket and the unit itself damaged the bottom of the side cover. Now I see there is a "recall" on the uppers... I have decided to remove it all together and wait for Smooth Spyders tensioner. Bakers builds a great product and their customer support is the best. I just think this project needs to hit the design board again for some updates

Again, not taking anything away from the guys at Baker and I am sure they will soon get this part up to speed. I ordered a new belt guard (hope it's not back ordered) as you have to cut them to install the baker unit..
