• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Saving $$ on XM subscription

I love a deal...I love saving money....I love having more $$ to travel on Ms Spyder.
Just discovered a way to save big time on XM...if you have an existing subscription...call their listener care number (866-760-4293) and tell them you want to cxl...they'll ask you why and tell them way to expensive or something similar. Cut my subscription in half...:yes:.

Thought that there was a one time LIFETIME fee so as not to ever pay a monthly fee for as long as you own the vehicle it is installed in.:dontknow:

Actually, as it was related to me by the XM representative, you can buy a lifetime subscription, and it allows you to replace the present radio/receiver that you have two times (for a total of three radio/receivers). I have two lifetime subscriptions, one for my home and the second for my spyder. The price was in the area of $400.00 per and it also depends on the type of XM plan that you want. Mine was the plan which is a "notch down" from the top of the line plan. There were just a lot of channels that I knew I'd never listen to. I figure it will pay for itself in about 2 to 3 years.

With all the great radio apps for both android and iPhone, I personally see services like xm becoming extinct in the near future. I use tunein radio on iPhone as well as radio paradise and here really great. NPR also has a great app for live streaming as well as archived shows. I run it Bluetooth to my helmet when on the spyder--- and also Bluetooth to car stereo. At work we got a Logitech squeezebox Internet radio. Thousands of stations-- all free to listen too just like on iPhone. Many are also commercial free. The radio paradise station is one of he best. No commercials and great music.

I used to have Sirius. Besides the monthly subscription fee I found myself replacing the danged radio almost every year. The led's would go out, or the connection to the antenna would stop working. That just added too much cost. I agree with Firefly that it will become increasingly difficult for the satellite radio companies to attract subscribers and stay in business.
