Does anyone know what the slingshot is registered in NY.
Motorcycle or other. I just passed one and neither the driver or passenger had a helmet on. :dontknow:

I saw one here in California and the driver and passenger were NOT wearing helmets. It is classified as a motorcycle, as it is all states. The sad thing is the willful disregard for safety and the law by some Sling owners in states where helmets are required.

it is a motorcycle here but i saw some people riding past troopers last week w/o helmets and the troopers didn't pull them over, so they either didn't see the people or didn't know what it was registered as

Each State will treat this differently.... depends on State Law.

In Oregon it is classified as a motorcycle, therefore must wear a helmet as they are required here also. :thumbup:

Motorcycle... and when they get pulled over by the LEOs; they'll be reminded that NY has a mandatory helmet law when "riding" a motorcycle.

Slingshot owners don't abide by any laws................. Nobody tells them what to do............. :doorag:

Just curious, is that a seperate license in NY state?

Here in Oregon it is just an endorsement on your Driver's License; just like my registering as an organ donor is also just an endorsement my DL.

not only do i have the M endorsement but i also have the U ENDORSEMENT for ugly biker

In Illinois it is classified as an autocycle. No M required but it takes a motorcycle plate.
