• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So much for Black Friday Can-Am Deals

I just got an email this morning titled "Can-Am Spyder US Order Cancellation" they cancelled the entire order I made on their sale. Reason given - Cancelled. WTH?

Hah! But they made you look!!!! :roflblack:
:sour:

BTW, I ordered a new grill for my F3 when the catalogue came out a couple of months ago. Estimated time delivery = NOVEMBER! You guessed it. It is now DECEMBER! As much as I love riding my F3, I think BRP has a little work to do, yet, in the customer relations department. R&D should talk to sales who should talk to parts who should... Seems like the ol' left hand/right hand thing. JMHO

They use an order fulfillment service called Shopatron, they are nice folks I called them when I placed the order because I was being charged shipping and I thought that was free. I was a day early on the free shipping and a day late on getting something in my size. When I called this morning they said the order was cancelled because the product was not available. Of course the Can-Am website still shows the items this morning. I'd keep placing orders for the same stuff until they update their website but I'm sure they have charged my credit card and won't be as quick to credit me.

Supply and demand...

They need a crystal ball a soothsayer a taroh card reader even a gypsy...:banghead::banghead: they have a bad track record on having on hand what they are offering. That goes for all their products and by products...hope they get on that cause it is a factor of customer loyalty....:lecturef_smilie:

What they need is a selling site that's linked to their inventory. It's a very amateur system.

Inventory? What inventory? The BRP parts supply chain is the worst I have ever seen. Earlier this season, I waited almost 4 weeks for a water pump impeller. Now, I'm waiting on valve cover gaskets. At least both have been covered under warranty, but I did have to start a case with BRP to get the valve cover gaskets covered.

ORDERING ISSUES

I have run into something similar when ordering stuff from Walmart. Say you want gloves and you know they come in 4 sizes sm, med, lg, xlg.....say you order a LG.....if that size isn't in some warehouse ....the Walmart computer thinks it doesn't exist and now says it only comes in 3 sizes :dontknow::dontknow::dontknow:........Mike

I once tried to order from the BRP site. Found out it was Shopatron or whatever and is sort of kind not related but is related. Any perk of ordering was all cancelled out by some other fee or charge. I saw the writing and walked away. Found the same for less elsewhere.

A very irritating thing when companies like BRP make big sale claims and then do not have the merchandise to back it up. A lot of times, when stuff is 50% off, it is blow out merchandise where they want to reduce overstock or get rid of discontinued items.

It is possible to connect inventory availability to the sale site so that you, the customer will know if an item is in stock or not available at the time of the order. Motorcycle Superstore and Amazon work this way and you know immediately if you are going to get the item or not. Many times, the delivery date is also indicated.

The sales and marketing people at BRP still need to work a bit to get things perfect.

I used to order some clothes on line. The place started having those 50% sales. My last order, they had about 20% of what I wanted. Told them to keep it. Have not done business with them since.

fraud is legal until you get caught & even then...

If one wants to "push the envelope," BRP is legally obligated to sell you the merchandise "as advertised" even if they do not have it currently in stock...UNLESS...they have invoked the ever present "weasel words" hidden in the fine print of their ad. Such as...sale pricing is subject to stock on hand--or--we reserve the right to limit quantities---etc. etc.

Car dealers do this all the time. The "special price" is on one or two cars in stock...they will publish the stock # of each. Then you find out it is the pink one that has been sitting on their lot for the last year and a half.

I had to wait from Sept. 2104 to Apr. 2015 for the GPS mount for the Tri-Axis handlebars for my '14 RT-S. BRP's logistics stinks.

I got lucky

That stinks Ann, I got lucky and the two items I ordered a coup,e days ago have shipped?

I was sort of expecting that some of what I ordered would not be available, and I would have been okay with that had they told me that before they charged me for the order. On the plus side now I don't have to feel guilty about getting something for me and nothing for Joe. :roflblack:

Pre-charging your CC prior to actually shipping the merchandise is a big no-no. That indicates more issues. :lecturef_smilie:

When I ordered some stuff from BRP online for Last Christmas (For the Missus...); it was shipped to me from a nearby dealer... Dutchess Rec; in Poughkeepsie, NY.
I wonder why they didn't try to source it locally for you?
