• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Cruise Control

I am just beginning to enjoy my red Spyder SE 5. However, I have not taken it out on the highway much since taking delivery until I get a taller windshield (F1 Evolution III slider on order) installed. I also want to add handlebar risers. The main topic of this thread, however is cruise control. Having looked at several other forums, a fairly common after market cruise control installation seems to be the Audiovox CSS-100. I am considering adding one of these, and would like to know if any of you other Spyder Ryders out there have installed one on a Spyder yet, and if so, how difficult did you find it, and does the unit work to your satisfaction? Also, a very important thing to consider is, would the installation of an after market cruise control like the Audiovox CSS-100 void the factory warranty? Thanks for your thoughts, ideas, and input.

Lamonster has one check the step by step forum.

Last I heard, Lamonster HAD a cruise control. It broke on him and he's using a throttle lock now. Someone had posted about a Spyder cruise control made in Australia. Cost was just over $700 with shipping but its supposed to be a plug and play motorcycle cruise control, setup and adapted for the Spyder so it can handle the weather.

I installed the Audiovox on W's Spyder. First time took me much of 3 days, but I was also doing other stuff. Then I moved the control to above the high beam switch. Been working fine since. Used Lamonster's detail posts, with a slight change to how it connects to the throttle plate. Pics available - just PM me.

An effective and safe real cruise control that is reasonably priced for the Spyder would be a great addition. It would immediately go to the top of my "must have" mod list. Hopefully, one will be available soon.
